Art Workshops for Young Musicians (7-12yrs)

Workshop 1: Story Telling through
Musical Puppet Theatre


Working with the basic moods of happiness, anger, dreaminess and sadness, as well as with the natural personalities of the children, we will:
 
•      Make up a story with different mood scenes
•      Create characters to match and make puppets or masks out
       of scraps
•      Build a basic theatre and scenery out of wood, paper, paint and
        card
•      Improvise or play pieces on instruments and percussion to
       accompany the story
•     Create a short performance
 

What you need to bring:


Packed lunch
Wear old clothes that can get painty.
Your musical instrument(s) (this can be percussion, a home made instrument or the instrument you are currently studying).
One or two short pieces of music you can play.
As many of the following you can find at home: material scraps, paper and card scraps, buttons, bits of wire/wool/ribbon/sponge/fluff, empty toilet tissue rolls, string.
