SÓ String Training
Programme

The SÓ String Training Programme is an integrated teaching approach providing classes in Kodály Musicianship and Dalcroze Eurhythmics alongside individual and group stringed instrument tuition including violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp and guitar.

Stage 1 - Children of 3 years+ gain fluency in aural awareness and inner hearing, pulse, rhythm, literacy and coordinated movement in a stimulating yet structured environment through Kodály and Eurhythmics. There is also the opportunity to enjoy music making as a social and shared activity by joining one of the choirs at the Centre.

Stage 2 – Children of 6 years+ develop and enhance skills learnt at earlier stages and also apply these skills to learning to play a stringed instrument of their choice. Ensemble work affords pupils the opportunity to hone listening and coordination skills as well as derive real pleasure from music making.
